Ready to take your goals to the next level? 🎯 Join us for an inspiring goal-setting workshop led by Dr. Akeadra Bell, Dr. Rodolfo Olmos, Dr. Dentonio Worrell, sDr. Luma Chenyi, and Dr. Laila Hishaw. Learn practical strategies to stay focused and succeed this year to get into dental school or any other goals you have.

Meet your mentors:
Dr. Akeadra Bell, a 2020 graduate of East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, also completed NYU Langone Health’s AEGD program. She holds a Summa Cum Laude Chemistry degree from Elizabeth City State University, where she earned the UNCF Merck Science Initiative Award. A dedicated mentor and leader, Dr. Bell teaches at ECU, practices dentistry in Raleigh, NC, and shares wellness and pre-dental advice online as “Saved By Dr. Bell.” Follow her on IG, TikTok, and YouTube.
Dr. Olmos earned his dental degrees from Universidad Javeriana, Colombia (1997), and New York University (DDS, 2003). With over 20 years of experience in cosmetic, restorative, and pediatric dentistry, he actively participates in organizations like the ADA and Hispanic Dental Association. Dr. Olmos also holds an MBA and is pursuing an MHA at Webster University in Orlando, FL, continually advancing his expertise to provide exceptional patient care.
Dr. Dentonio Worrell, born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Barbados, earned a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from SUNY Stony Brook (2000) and a DDS from the University of Maryland Dental School (2004). After five years as a U.S. Army General Dentist, he specialized in Endodontics, earning board certification in 2012. Currently, he commands the U.S. Army Dental Health Activity-Hawaii and mentors AEGD residents. Dr. Worrell enjoys traveling, hiking, and family time.
sDr. Chenyi is a champion for health equity and representation in oral health professions, serving as an officer on the Founding Board of Directors for Diversity in Dentistry Mentorships, Inc. As Secretary and Programming Chair, she ensures mentees receive valuable guidance and develops curriculum to help them gain acceptance into dental school. Currently a dental student at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso in the MPH/DMD program, Luma is an active member of SNDA, ADG, ASDA, and ADEA, and helped establish the SNDA Chapter at her school, which won five awards in its first year. Additionally, she is a dedicated mother to three boys.
Dr. Laila Hishaw, a board-certified pediatric dentist and Amazon bestselling author of Cavity Free Kids, has over two decades of experience in children’s oral health. A leader in mentorship and inclusion, she founded Diversity in Dentistry Mentorships Inc., a nonprofit expanding pathways for underrepresented youth in dentistry. Dr. Hishaw’s accolades include Fellowships in prestigious dental organizations and numerous awards for leadership and mentorship. She serves on the ADA Task Force for Diversity and advocates for equity in oral healthcare.
