The Diversify Dentistry Youth Summit™ aims to improve pathways for youth from underrepresented backgrounds to consider a career in dentistry at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry
RICHMOND, VA – February 28, 2025 – Diversity in Dentistry Mentorships, Inc. (DIDM) will present the Diversify Dentistry Youth Summit™ on Friday, February 28, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, the first of its kind, at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry. This impactful event gathers 50 High and Middle School students from Richmond Public Schools to explore dentistry and ignite their passion for oral health careers.
Mentorship is at the heart of the Summit, offering participants the chance to learn from VCU’s dental students, esteemed faculty, and practicing community dentists from around Richmond and surrounding areas. Additionally, dentist mentors and DIDM Board/Advisory Members are coming from Arizona, Hawaii, Washington DC, and New York to share diverse perspectives and expertise, enriching the experience for students.
This exclusive event features Lab Activities, such as the Digital Lab activity, networking opportunities, and insights into the academic and professional paths within dentistry. It reflects DIDM’s mission to increase diversity in dentistry by equipping underrepresented youth with resources and mentorship to succeed.
