Dr. Hayes is the State Dental Director for New Jersey, championing oral health as a top priority for state government after 30 years without a full-time director. He spearheads oral health programming, preventive dentistry, and oral hygiene initiatives for all state residents, including vulnerable populations. With extensive experience in project management and grant oversight, Dr. Hayes leads a $1.7M HRSA-funded caries prevention program for at-risk youth. Previously, he excelled as the Co-Director of the General Practice Residency Program at BronxCare Health System and served in the Air Force as an Advanced Clinical Dentist. As a mentor and speaker, he continues to inspire and guide dental professionals worldwide.

Malachi Wright is a first-year dental school student at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, known for his YouTube channel, Student Doctor Wright. He graduated with high honors from Towson University. He is also a Medical and Dental School Academic Consultant at BeMo Academic Consulting Inc, guiding pre-dental and pre-medical students through the application process. He co-founded The Wright Brothers Endowment Scholarship, supporting college students engaged in community service. Passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in dentistry, he aims to help students reach their fullest potential.

Akosua Afriyie is currently a D1 at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health at A.T. Still University in Arizona. Growing up in an underserved community and not having access to a dentist sparked her curiosity to understand health disparities in addition to her strong manual dexterity. This process can be difficult when you don’t know where to start or have the resources. She is excited to be here to help you and answer any questions you have!

Xion Johnson was born and raised in Atlanta, GA; Xion Johnson is a 2022 graduate of Morehouse College and a new member of the 2027 class at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. At Morehouse College, he was a member of the Undergraduate Health Sciences Academy program at the Morehouse School of Medicine before graduating magna cum laude as a part of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
